Livestock Exhibition
The Cabot FFA chapter offers its members the opportunity to exhibit various species of livestock at the County, District and State Livestock Shows and Fairs.  Students are also encouraged to show in jackpot shows that are held throughout the nation for each specie of animal.

In order for an FFA member to exhibit an animal, he/she must meet all high school requirements for eligibility for extra-curricular activities, must be in good standing with the Cabot FFA chapter, and the project must be supervised by a local Agriculture teacher and meet all county, district, and state livestock regulations for eligibility.  Those regulations for each specie can be found under the links page for the Lonoke County Fair and The Arkansas State Fair.

Species that a student may exhibit:
--Breeding livestock in beef cattle, dairy cattle, swine, sheep, dairy goats, meat-type goats, rabbits, and poultry. Breeding livestock are often shown for several years.
--Students may also exhibit market animals in beef, swine, sheep, goats, rabbits, and poultry. Market animals are terminal animals and are generally shown for just one show year.
Students interested in exhibiting livestock should fill out an application found under the applications tab, print it and turn it in to their respective Agriculture teacher.

The Cabot FFA chapter also offers leadership opportunities for its exhibitors.  Activities that the students may participate in include:  county fair clean-up, state fair barnyard, showmanship clinics, mobile petting zoo, Heifer International, livestock chains, Arkansas State Fair Ag Ambassador Program, and donating time to work at local animal shelters.  Students are rewarded for their efforts by being recognized at the Cabot FFA Banquet.
